The Gameboy emulator that I use is SMYGB. Download SMYGB Of all the ones I tried it offers the best compatability with perfect sound, for a GB and good colour compatability. It also runs in a window on Win95 and above. It will play both color and normal GB games. All four versions of Pokemon are availiable for download over the net, Red, Blue, Green and Yellow. Classic games that are very hard to come by are also availiable. The entire range of Final Fantasy games, 1 to 6, can be downloaded for the GB. While not as colourful, being in black and white, as Zelda DX, they offer an indepth plot and good gameplay immediately familiar to anyone who has played the later Final Fantasy games on the Playstation. New games can also be downloaded Turok 2 works well on the emulator, but a version of GTA that I downloaded failed to run and locked up. Gameboy emulation although illegal can save you a large ammount of money. Gameboy games are very small in size, a colour game weighing in at about 200k when compressed, and take just seconds to download. I had downloaded over 20 games in five minutes. Saving myself about 300 if you count the 70 price of a Gameboy Color. It also gave me access to games that I would otherwise never would have played, such as the Final Fantasy series. Finding these ROMs and emulators really couldn't be easier. Just enter "Gameboy Roms" into a search engines and thousands of sites offering downloads will be listed. The emulator that I use is SMYGB I found it to be the most reliable. Any game can be saved at any point by simply pressing a button. This greatly improves the playing of any games. I am currently looking into N64 emulation I have a version of UHLE and am currently looking for ROMs to download. If anyone has information as to where I can get ROMs for games such as Mario64 and Goldeneye I would be greatful. Many of the links I find are to files that are no longer stored on the servers and any that I have downloaded have failed to UNZIP correctly. |
